BLOG TOUR: The Mother - T.M. Logan

Framed for murder. Now she's free . . .

A woman attends a funeral, standing in the shadows and watching in agony as her sons grieve. But she is unable to comfort them - or reveal her secret.

A decade earlier, Heather gets her children ready for bed and awaits the return of her husband Liam, little realising that this is the last night they will spend together as a family. Because tomorrow she will be accused of Liam's murder.

Ten years ago Heather lost everything. Now she will stop at nothing to clear her name - and to get her children back . . .

What did I think?

You're always guaranteed a good read with a T.M. Logan book and The Mother is no exception - I simply couldn't put it down!  Clear your diary for a few hours when you pick this one up as it will be stuck to your hands until you've devoured every single word.

Talk about hooked from the start: reading about Heather attending her own funeral ensured that I put on my virtual running shoes and raced through this book.  In a double whammy of mystery and intrigue, I just had to know why and how Heather faked her own death and whether or not she had murdered her husband.

I really liked Heather, even though I wasn't sure whether or not she was a murderer.  Although I don't have children, I felt her pain at being separated from her two boys.  Even when she was released on licence she was prevented from being in contact with them and I could have cried for her.  It gives her motivation to fight for her freedom though and she claims she didn't kill her husband so she needs to find out who did in order to clear her name.

With plenty of shocks and surprises in store for the reader, The Mother is fast-paced, gripping and very addictive.  T.M. Logan isn't referred to as the master of the up-all-night thriller for no reason - once you pick this book up, you won't be able to put it down.  If The Mother isn't picked up for TV, I will eat my hat.  Very highly recommended.

BLOG TOUR: The Curfew - T.M. Logan

I should have known something was wrong. I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm.

The curfew
Andy and Laura are good parents. They tell their son Connor that he can go out with friends to celebrate completing his exams, but he must be home by midnight.

The lie
When Connor misses his curfew, it sets off a series of events that will change the lives of five families forever.

The truth?
Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything...

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

What did I think?

I always get excited when I see a new T.M. Logan book being published as all his novels are completely compelling and The Curfew is no exception.  Clear your schedule when you pick this one up as you won't be able to put it down!

Like many parents of teenagers, Andy Boyd can't completely fall asleep until he knows that his 16 year old son, Connor, is home safe.  Connor's curfew is midnight so he must be home when Andy wakes up at 3am, but Andy can't relax until he looks into Connor's room and thinks he sees him tucked up in bed.  The following day becomes every parent's worst nightmare when one of Connor's school friends goes missing but Connor was home by midnight...wasn't he?

Ooooh you can't help but read this book wondering what you would do in the same situation.  Andy and Laura Boyd have every faith in their son but they don't actually know where he was at midnight so it's either stupid or incredibly trusting to tell the police that Connor was at home.  Connor is clearly hiding something and I couldn't read fast enough to find out what.

Although the story centres around Connor, it is his 12 year old sister, Harriet, who turned out to be my favourite character.  She's like a cross between Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory and Chloe from 24; incredibly intelligent and a tech wizard who naturally doesn't fit in with the normal kids at school.  Who wants to be normal anyway?  The character development is stunning and they're described so vividly that they virtually pop out of the page.

T.M. Logan has done it again!  The Curfew is a gripping, compulsive and nail-biting thriller that is as impossible to predict as it is to put down.  I certainly missed my reading curfew when reading just one more chapter turned into five more chapters.  Don't miss this one!

BLOG TOUR: Trust Me - T.M. Logan

TWO STRANGERS, A CHILD, AND A SPLIT SECOND CHOICE THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING . . .

Ellen was just trying to help a stranger. That was how it started: giving a few minutes respite to a flustered young mother sitting opposite her on the train. A few minutes holding her baby while the mother makes an urgent call. The weight of the child in her arms making Ellen's heart ache for what she can never have.

Five minutes pass.
Ten.

The train pulls into a station and Ellen is stunned to see the mother hurrying away down the platform, without looking back. Leaving her baby behind. Ellen is about to raise the alarm when she discovers a note in the baby's bag, three desperate lines scrawled hastily on a piece of paper:

Please protect Mia
Don't trust the police
Don't trust anyone

Why would a mother abandon her child to a stranger? Ellen is about to discover that the baby in her arms might hold the key to an unspeakable crime. And doing the right thing might just cost her everything . . .

What did I think?

I always get excited when I see a new T.M. Logan book being published as they are guaranteed to be exciting and gripping reads.  His latest book, Trust Me, is no exception as it sets off at lightning pace with such an intriguing premise.

Ellen is left literally holding the baby when she helps a young mother on the train and the mother gets off at the next station, leaving the baby behind along with a note telling Ellen not to trust anyone.  Ellen's senses are immediately heightened and she sees danger at every turn especially as stepping off the train with a baby that isn't hers, she is an assumed kidnapper.

I couldn't help but put myself in Ellen's shoes and believe me, it's not a pair of shoes I'd covet but this is where I got a little annoyed at her.  The note specifically said don't trust the police but she seems intent on handing Mia over to the authorities at the first opportunity.  Of course, I'm not saying I would have been any different and I'm reading a fictional book after all so it's all part of the story.

There's so much going on in the story that I felt quite dizzy at times but I had totally bought into the 'don't trust anyone' storyline so I suspected everybody at one time or another.  My sleuthing skills were way off though as I was surprised at every turn as the story raced towards its heart-stopping conclusion.

Although I read it in 4 chunks, I would still say that this is a gripping and addictive book.  If I'd been reading a physical copy I definitely would have found it difficult to put down, whereas I only read digitally in bed so it takes me a lot longer to read ebooks.

Completely gripping with a constant element of danger that kept me on the edge of my seat, Trust Me is a blisteringly fast-paced rollercoaster of a read and another cracker from T.M. Logan.
